Anyone who has attempted to see a Tapaculo will know how difficult and skulking they are. This bird was calling a good 100 metres up a steep, densely vegetated slope...so we went up after it. Amazingly, we got right under the fallen trunk it was perched on and watched it singing with the naked eye....the shrubs and plants made it difficult to focus on the bird but I'm pretty pleased with this shot!
