A Laughing Buddha.....

....apparently there two types of Buddha statutes. The 'thin' ones are of the true Buddha, while the 'fat' ones are known as Laughing Buddhas. They are seen as bringing luck and good fortune and are modelled on an eccentric monk called Quieci or Buddai.
