Aloha !The "First Lady of Waikiki" ( Moana Surfrider Resort) dates from 1901.The beach at Waikiki.........with surfboards of course.......and seascapes very reminiscent of the St. Ives painter John Miller.These historic houses were described as "1930s Tudor"!The introduced White-rumped Shama....where else do they show as well?!Another introduction...Red-billed Leiothrix or "Pekin Robin".The striking Hawaiian race of the Moorhen ( or Common Gallinule)Endemic Hawaiian Coot.....about 10% have this odd colouration on the frontal shield.The long walk out to Ka'ena Point....Through the massive fence built to keep introduced Mongooses away from.......the small colony of Laysan Albatrosses....this is a juvenile.Back to Waikiki and a splendid window display in an up-market shop...this is made of scarves.......and this of slippers.Waikiki at night.....with a Polynesian-style bronze statue....and the Festival of the Pacific.Hanalei NWR on Kaua'i
